I've been teaching high school foreign language, Italian and Spanish, for the past nine years. Before that, I worked in insurance unofficially since 1st grade, but then as a full-fledged license broker at 18 years old. I saw the importance and emergence of personal and business computers in the insurance world. I taught myself how to set up various operating systems, programs, networks, phone systems (installing jacks, cat-5 lines), electrical work etc. When we sold our insurance business I returned to college to get my degree and I was intrigued at the prospect of teaching, I had some amazing professors, one of whom I am still maintain a friendship, and they guided as became a teacher. In 2006 I earned my BA in Italian, Spanish and Secondary Education from Queens College and began to work for Baldwin High School. I also have an MA in Italian from Queens College, and I am halfway done with Masters in Educational Leadership. I only wish that I could have taken classes in mathematics and computer science just so that I could learn about the back-end of computers rather that just the user-interface.
